About This Video

In this video, I review the ASUS ProArt Display PA278QV Professional Monitor and break down why it’s such a “damn good display” for the money—especially if you care about color accuracy. It’s a 27-inch WQHD (2560x1440) IPS panel with a frameless design, 100% sRGB and 100% Rec.709 coverage, plus it’s Calman Verified and factory calibrated. For most ordinary users like you and I—surfing the web, some gaming, and general use—this monitor honestly feels like an overachiever, because it’s clearly built with designers and people who need accurate color in mind. What I personally enjoyed most is the jump from 1080p to 2K for video editing. I can see more of my timeline and project at once, which saves time because I’m not dragging stuff around as much. Connectivity is also excellent: DisplayPort, mini DisplayPort, HDMI, dual-link DVI-D, audio in/out, and USB 3.0 ports, plus it even has built-in speakers in a pinch. My main drawback is the refresh rate—75Hz with Adaptive-Sync is fine, but coming from 144Hz, it’s definitely a setback if you’re more gaming-focused. If you want color accuracy more than high hertz, the ProArt lineup is absolutely worth looking at.
