In this update video, I’m finally talking about what’s next for NXT Windows—and why the channel’s views have honestly dropped off a cliff since around January. I’ve still been putting out the same kinds of videos, but real life changed fast: the pandemic cooled down, people are outside more, I went back to school (again) for a second degree, and I started a new job that isn’t work-from-home. That means less time to record, and it’s probably affected how “cared for” some of the recent uploads feel—even though I do care a lot. I also take a step back and look at what this channel has been: mostly Windows app reviews, plus Windows 11 Dev/Beta build coverage when it’s actually interesting. I don’t really touch Windows 10 anymore because it feels like maintenance mode, and Release Preview rarely excites me. I know I’ve also fallen off on UI critiques and series ideas I said I’d bring back, and that bothers me because I like being true to my word. The big forward-looking piece is the website (nextwindows.com). I want a place where apps and software are the center—not gadget specs—and where we can bridge art-style critique with app development so software gets better. I’m not giving up, I still see 10K on the horizon, and I’m asking you to be constructively critical and tell me what you want to see next.
