In this homeschool update, I’m sharing my honest wins and fails for our 1st semester (2024–2025) and what’s feeling “off track” right now. I walk through each subject and tell you what’s working, what’s not, and what I’m adjusting so we can finish the year strong without burning out. If you’re in that mid-year slump where your plan looked good on paper but real life is doing the most—this one is for you. I cover Spanish, grammar, history/geography/social studies, science, financial literacy, vocabulary, health/logic, writing, math, reading comprehension, Bible, plus a quick wrap-up with spelling and reading. I also share some of the resources I’m using (and considering) like Spanish Now! Level 1, 180 Days workbooks, Evan-Moor Financial Literacy, and several history spines—including Caribbean and Black history titles—because I like having options to pull from when we need a reset. The biggest takeaway: it’s okay to pivot mid-year. I’d rather tweak the plan and keep consistency than force a curriculum that’s not serving my girls.
