In this video I’m sharing what our homeschool day looks like with a 4th grader and a 6th grader, and how I keep our schedule realistic for our home. I walk through the flow of our day—what we try to start with, how we rotate subjects, and how I decide what has to get done versus what can move to another day. If you’re homeschooling multiple ages, you already know the day can get away from you fast, so I’m showing the kind of structure that helps us stay steady without feeling like we’re in a traditional school setting. I also talk about the practical side of scheduling—building in breaks, handling independent work, and keeping expectations clear for each child. My biggest takeaway is that the “perfect schedule” isn’t the goal; consistency is. I want my girls to know what to expect each day, but I also leave room for real life, appointments, and the days when we need to slow down and adjust.
