In this homeschool 1st semester update for our 2025–2026 year, I’m sitting down to talk through what’s working, what’s feeling shaky, and the big question I know a lot of us wrestle with: can “good enough” actually get it done? I share where we are right now and why I’m paying extra attention to math and science—because those are the areas that can quietly slide if you don’t catch it early. I’m not trying to be perfect over here. I’m trying to be consistent, honest about the gaps, and willing to adjust. I also chat through some of the resources we’re using (and why I picked them), especially for language arts, vocabulary, writing, and planning. I’m the kind of homeschool mom who likes tools that make things simpler—whether that’s a solid planner, a workbook that’s straightforward, or a book that helps keep our hearts centered.
