About This Video

Good morning everybody—this one’s all about the long game of collecting. In this video I break down 15 records that are sitting in my Discogs wish list: albums I’d love to have in my collection but don’t, because they’re either very expensive, very rare, or (worst case) both. Some are pretty common titles that I just haven’t grabbed yet, and others are the kind of pressings where the odds are slim to none… but there’s always hope. I talk through exactly which versions I’m chasing and why—whether it’s Alice In Chains Unplugged (still out of print and way too pricey), the ultra-limited Nimbus Super Cut and Audio 5 Sgt. Pepper variants, or originals I want for the collection like Shaker Maker, Danzig I, and an ’86 Master of Puppets to round out my early Metallica run. I also get into the nerdy stuff like the Soundgarden “320” masterings (and how to avoid getting burned by barcode confusion—check the dead wax), plus why my Rhino Funhouse just doesn’t sound right on my system. And to close it out, I hit my grunge compilation holy grails—Sub Pop 200 and especially Deep Six—complete with the $600 Pittsburgh near-miss that still haunts me.
