Hi, I’m Miss Julie, and in this video I’m taking you on a real tour of my Montessori toddler classroom—because I realized I’d never actually shown you the whole space. I share what’s on my shelves right now and, just as importantly, why it’s there. The ages I’m serving in this season matter (my youngest is almost 2, and I have a couple children already 3), so the environment shifts throughout the year as toddlers master skills quickly and need new challenges. I walk you through our entry area (cubbies, chalkboard for transitions, boot bench), our tables (including my new adjustable dining table—because toddlers grow fast and knees start hitting!), and our food prep and handwashing/dishwashing setup. Then I show you the practical life works I’m offering: dressing frames, window washing, polishing, table scrubbing, beading and sewing cards, pencil sharpening, open/close and in/out, locks and keys, and even some “primary prep” works for older toddlers refining pincer grasp and pouring. You’ll also see plant care, art (painting, precise gluing, clay, watercolor, clipboards), puzzles and early math (like the spindle box), language baskets, reading nooks, stereognostic bags, building materials, and our mop area. My goal is always a well-prepared toddler environment that supports independence, movement, and respectful routines—plus a little seasonal joy along the way.
