The child brings everything else they need within themselves so as our toddlers grow in physical ability strength and courage we want to take care as we communicate with them that we are not saying things that undermine their confidence or that send the message that we're not confident in them or that we don't think they are capable. Let’s explore together what we should do when our children are taking a risk that is known to them, is ultimately not really going to harm them and by taking that risk they're going to gain more confidence, feel more capable, and be more capable because they'll have another skill and have learned another way to interact with the environment.
