In our classroom we help toddler emotional development and self-regulation with our spin on the "time-in" area. Our basket has items and ideas to help with healthy processing of emotions. The activities in the basket are used alongside a teacher to learn coping strategies when our emotions overwhelm us. Do you have a "time-in" area or basket? Please share the items you keep there in the comments! visit www.genmindful.com for more information on using "time-ins" instead of "time-outs". 00:00 What's in my time-in basket 00:21 What is a time-in basket 01:10 Teaching toddlers self-regulation skills 01:46 Item #1 in our time-in basket for toddlers, calming strategies 02:58 Item #2 in our time-in basket for toddlers, yoga cards 03:12 Item #3 in our time in basket for toddlers, weighted or sensory item 03:46 Item #4 in our time in basket for toddlers, guided meditation book 04:21 Item #5 in our time in basket for toddlers, lavender smelling jar I'm on vacation from the classroom in August 2021 and will be using some of that time to challenge myself to get back to the "minutes" goal of Miss Julie's Montessori Minutes.
