In this video, I share six interesting, inspiring, and practical books that have been formative for my parenting and Montessori teacher life. These books cover positive parenting, racial identity development, financial intelligence, and fostering confidence and independence. These six books have a permanent place on my bookshelf and are definitely worth adding to your reading list while your children are toddlers and preschool age. However, parents of all ages can benefit from several of these books. These books were not written by people who identify themselves as part of the Montessori movement. Guess what, neither did Dr. Montessori, she didn't really want her pedagogy even carrying her name. The core principles that guide the work of these authors have a lot in common with the Montessori method and that's why they are some of my favorite books! I don't hang onto books unless I know I will open them up over and over. These are the books I hang onto and love the most and I hope you will find some of them helpful too! ************* Book Descriptions: These books may be available at your local library.
