In this video I’m talking through what I’m considering for next year’s homeschool language arts, math, and our morning time—specifically for my rising 2nd grader and 4th grader. I walk through options subject-by-subject, sharing what I’m leaning toward, what I’m still deciding, and why certain programs are on my short list. If you’re in that “planning but not fully committed yet” stage, this is very much that kind of chat—realistic, flexible, and based on what’s actually working in our home. For LA, I compare a few different approaches, like Blossom and Root, Brave Writer, and skill-building pieces like Explode the Code, spelling options (Phonetic Zoo, Memoria Press, Spelling You See, Evan-Moor), and grammar choices like Fix It Grammar. For math, I mention Math with Confidence for both levels I’m planning around. Then I wrap up with morning time ideas—things like poetry (Ambleside Online), Spanish, and some Charlotte Mason-style enrichment (handicrafts like Paper Sloyd and art like Brushwork). My goal is to keep next year simple, doable, and rich—without overcomplicating the daily flow.
