In this video I’m sharing our History & Science homeschool curriculum picks for 2026–2027, and I’m keeping it very “family style” because that’s what works best for us. I walk you through the spine resources I’m using, the notebooks I like for keeping everything together, and the extra reads and hands-on pieces that make ancient history and science feel doable (and actually enjoyable) for multiple ages at once. For science, I’m leaning into simple, consistent nature-based learning with For the Love of Homeschooling Science Units, plus a dedicated SchoolNest science notebook so my kids have one place for observations, drawings, and notes. For history, I’m building around Story of the World: Ancients and the Activity Guide, then layering in timeline work (SchoolNest timeline notebook), reference reading (Usborne Encyclopedia of World History), and fun extras like Magic Tree House titles and Famous Figures of Ancient Times. If you’re trying to plan a full year without piecing together a million random things, this is the kind of stack that gives you structure but still leaves room for morning time, read-alouds, and hands-on projects.
