In this video I’m sharing what our morning time is going to look like for the 2026–2027 homeschool year with a 2nd grader and a 4th grader. I walk through the subjects I’m keeping in our morning basket and why—basically, the things I want to do together that set a calm tone for the day: poetry, nature study, a little bit of Spanish, and some gentle skill-building like drawing/handicrafts. I also talk through how I’m thinking about schedules and planning so morning time stays simple and actually doable (because if it’s too complicated, I know I won’t keep up with it consistently). Then I share our read aloud picks for the year. I’m choosing a mix of living books and family-friendly chapter reads that work well across ages, plus a few that pair nicely with a Charlotte Mason-style rhythm.
