In this *NEW* January homeschool update, I’m sharing what’s working for us right now in 1st grade, 3rd grade, and our group subjects—plus a few changes I’m making as we head into a new month. I walk through reading progress, what we’re using for language arts and enrichment, and how I’m keeping things simple while still making sure we’re moving forward. If you like seeing the real-life “this is what we’re actually doing” side of homeschooling, this is that kind of update. I also share a new science direction and talk through some of the resources I’m pulling in to support skills without adding a ton of busywork—things like logic puzzles, word work, and quality read-alouds. I mention a few of the books and curricula we’re using (including BookShark readers and some Charlotte Mason-friendly extras like poetry and journals), and I give a realistic look at how I plan and adjust when something needs to change. My goal is always to keep our days doable and effective—especially when you’re juggling multiple ages.
