In this video I’m sharing my future homeschool planning—specifically my longer-term ideas for history and science. I walk through what’s actually important to me when I’m looking at curriculum options (because it’s so easy to get distracted by what looks pretty online). I’m thinking about things like how well it will work with multiple ages, whether it’s open-and-go or needs a lot of prep, if it fits a more living-books/Charlotte Mason-ish vibe, and how realistic it is to keep going with it year after year. Then I share the history and science curriculums that made my “seriously considering” list and do a deeper dive into longer-term options. I talk through programs like Blossom and Root, Story of the World, Build Your Library, Oak Meadow, Guest Hollow, BookShark, Beautiful Feet Books, and also resources like A History of US. My goal is to choose paths that keep things simple, keep my kids engaged, and give us a plan I can stick with—without constantly reinventing the wheel every year.
