About This Video

Today I put the Ryobi (yeah, I said “Robi” in the video) 40V HP Whisper Series handheld blower to a real-world test, because the box claims 800 CFM and a quieter experience—and I honestly didn’t expect to be this impressed. I unbox it, show what’s included (tool-only in my case), and run it with a 6Ah 40V battery to see how it balances in hand. I also point out a couple design details I appreciate right away, like the rubber tip on the tube so you’re not scratching siding or getting too close to your car. Then I get into the stuff that matters: blowing performance on thick, wet grass clippings, moving wet heavy leaves off a curb, and even clearing snow on a cold 19° day. It blasts leaves away fast, and on fluffy snow it’s surprisingly effective—packed footprints are a different story, but fresh snow clears easy. The biggest takeaway? Sound. This is my favorite handheld blower I’ve ever used because it’s the quietest and the most pleasant sounding, without that annoying whine. Between the cruise control, variable speed trigger, solid ergonomics, and smart intake placement that doesn’t grab your clothing, this one earned a “Mark Thomas builder approved.”
