Today I tested something a lot of you have probably wondered about: can spray foam actually help with soundproofing, not just insulation. For the first time, I hooked up a can of BEEST USA Full Stop to the spray gun and did a quick real-world demo. I put a Bluetooth speaker in a small box, dropped that into a bigger box, and took baseline readings with a decibel meter from the back, top, and side before adding any foam. After that, I suited up, shook the can for at least 30 seconds, and sprayed thin coats (with a light mist of water to help it stick). I surrounded the inner box with a couple inches of foam on all sides and the top, then repeated the same decibel test. My readings dropped hard—like 78.5 down to 63 from the back, 74 down to 67 from the top, and 77.9 down to 65 from the side. With the speaker cranked, it was still a major reduction, and that’s why I can say without a doubt this stuff locks in sound and passed my test. I also cut into it so you can see the closed-cell exterior and the more compressible interior—kind of the best of both worlds.
