In this video I compare the three Sony compact cameras from the ZV line: the Sony ZV-1F, the Sony ZV-1, and the Sony ZV-1 II. I start with what’s the same across all of them: they share the same 20MP sensor, flip-out touch screen, SD cards, the same battery, 4K up to 30fps and 1080p up to 120fps, 8-bit recording with S-Log and Cine profiles, mic input (but no headphone jack), product presentation/defocus modes, USB streaming (HD), and active stabilisation. Then I go through the real decision-makers: lens and price. The ZV-1F gives you a 20mm f/2 which is great for handheld vlogging and it’s the cheapest. The ZV-1 has a 24–70mm f/1.8–2.8 so it’s got the most reach and better low-light/background blur at the long end, but it’s the least “vlog-friendly” wide. The ZV-1 II is 18–50mm f/1.8–4 which makes it the best pick for vlogging thanks to that wider end, plus you still get some zoom for B-roll. I also cover smaller (but important) differences like autofocus modes, USB-C vs micro-USB, the missing HFR mode on newer models (I’m still sad about that), touch menu improvements, RAW photo support, ISO limits, built-in ND filters vs filter thread, hot shoe differences, and that improved tripod mount placement on the newer bodies. My overall ranking for most people is: ZV-1 II first, ZV-1F second, and the original ZV-1 third.
