Hi everyone, M G here — in this video I’m testing the Sennheiser EW-DP ME2 wireless system, and I genuinely think it’s the new industry standard for pro wireless audio. Sennheiser sent it to me almost a year ago, and I’ve been using it ever since, so this isn’t a “first impressions” thing — it’s based on real-world use. I do a proper range/stress test on Blackheath in London (open field, not ideal for radio), with the receiver on my Sony FX3 XLR top handle and the transmitter in my pocket. I walk it out to 100 meters and it still holds signal, which is kind of the whole point: reliability. I also show how it sounds going into a Zoom F3 over XLR, recording in 32-bit float, and I break down why EW-DP (Evolution Wireless Digital) is a big step up from older analog systems like the G4/G3. You get a massive 134 dB dynamic range (five times more), UHF performance instead of 2.4 GHz, and super easy frequency scanning + syncing via low energy Bluetooth. My favorite workflow bits: I can change gain on the receiver (not the transmitter), override mute from the receiver (talent-proof), and the magnetic cheese plate mount makes camera rigging (and even stacking receivers) really clean. Yes, it costs more than DJI Mic 2 or Rode Wireless Pro — but for client work, I’ll pick UHF reliability every time.
