Eventually things settled: I got back to work (barista job was easier with the injury), freelancing picked up, and in February I landed a videographer role at a social media agency in London—honestly even better than the job I originally came for. That stability let us move into our own flat in March 2024. The takeaway: even in a “bad year,” older searchable videos can still earn—and Shorts kept me posting when long-form felt impossible.
