About This Video

This is the Ulanzi Zero F38 tripod that I always wanted to get, and in this video I finally unbox it and walk you through what you actually get in the box and how it all works. I show the paperwork, the spiky feet, the extra center column (super handy because this tripod has a specific ball head), plus the strap and the really nice carrying pouch. First impressions straight away: the tripod looks really, really nice, and I’m a big fan of how it’s made—especially those metal latches and how quickly you can take the legs out, put them back in, and lock everything down. I also go through the key specs and the little details that matter for travel. You’re looking at 132 cm max height without the center column, 156.7 cm with it, and it goes down to 15.3 cm. Folded length is 42.3 cm, weight is 1.1 kg, and the center column is rated up to 18 kg while the head is realistically a 5–6 kg situation (I wouldn’t put anything heavier than 6 kg on top). The best bit for my setup is the built-in F38 quick release because I use F38 on pretty much all of my cameras, plus you’ve got leg angle options (20°, 55°, 75°), vertical mode via the center column, a hook for stability, a hidden wrench, a side 1/4-inch mount, rubber feet, and a bubble level. My first impressions are really good—and I’m excited to properly use it and report back.
