Hey guys, Mango here. In this video I’m basically questioning whether you really need to drop $150 on a wireless Zowie EC2-CW just to get that “wireless” feeling. I took my wired Zowie EC2 (Divina pink) and swapped the stock cable for the Lethal Gaming Gear Lethal Cable—an insanely thin paracord that, in-game, genuinely makes the mouse feel virtually wireless for a fraction of the cost. The big issue with the stock wired EC2 experience is cable drag. Even the newer “paracord” style cables are still thick enough that you feel them on the pad. This Lethal cable is the thinnest I’ve seen in production, has a solid stress relief, and it basically disappears while you’re gaming. To back it up, I ran Aim Lab comparisons between the EC2-CW and my cable-modded EC2 and my performance was basically one-to-one—sometimes better on one, sometimes better on the other. I also walk through the install at a high level: pop the skates, remove the bottom screw, open the shell, swap the cable, and reassemble. If you’ve got an older EC2, I also mention the aluminum tape trick on the buttons to make them feel crisper. Bottom line: this is a super underrated $20 mod in 2023 if you want “wireless feel” without the wireless price tag.
