How’s it going everybody, Mango here—this video is my long-term, no-BS experience with the LG 27GL83A-B after owning it for well over a year. It’s a 27-inch 1440p IPS monitor at 144Hz (advertised 1ms), and it’s both G-Sync and FreeSync compatible. I go over the basics like the ports (2x HDMI, DisplayPort, aux, power), how I actually navigate the settings (that little nipple joystick under the panel), and how I used RTINGS.com as a baseline to calibrate my own settings without getting overly technical. Then I get into the real reason I bought it: gaming. For productivity, 27 inches feels like the sweet spot—web browsing is perfect, and I’ve had a great time in stuff like Excel/Word and even Premiere Pro and Photoshop. On PC, 1440p is straight up OP; when I upgraded from an RX 5700 XT (around 100–110 FPS) to an RTX 3070, it finally unlocked that smoother 144Hz experience in most games at medium-high settings. I also show two simple “mods” I did: swapping the stock stand for a VESA monitor arm to clean up the desk, and adding a light bar (which was annoying to fit because of the curved back, but I found one that works). Lastly, I cover console gaming—PS5 looks chef’s kiss because it takes a 4K input and downscales to 1440p, and the Switch looks excellent too.
