About This Video

In this video I walk you through the best no-BS way to clip your PC gameplay using OBS Replay Buffer. We’re not touching streaming—this is purely for clipping, and the reason I recommend OBS over stuff like SteelSeries Moments is simple: it’s insanely modular. You can crank resolution/FPS, change clip length, and even decide exactly what audio gets saved (game only, mic only, no Discord, no music—whatever you want). I start by downloading OBS, then I go straight into Settings to optimize for recording: Advanced output mode, MP4, multiple audio tracks, and encoder choices like NVENC H.264 if you’ve got an RTX card (or x264 if you don’t). I also show my replay buffer settings (I run 90 seconds and about 0.5GB memory), plus the video settings—base res matching your monitor, and output res set how you want for clip storage. Then I build a clean clipping scene with Display Capture or Game Capture, add mic input, and set up audio routing. The underrated sauce is installing the win-capture-audio plugin so you can capture per-app audio and split everything into separate tracks for editing. Finally, I add an audio cue script so you hear a “beep” when a clip saves, set a hotkey, hit Start Replay Buffer, and you’re ready to farm clips.
