Hey guys! In this video I’m finally sharing the real-life move & unpack with me in our new home, and it is extremely motivating because… moving is messy. I start in the kitchen because it’s the heart of the home and I needed us to be able to cook and function ASAP. I’m wiping things down as I go (like the pantry), breaking down boxes, and trying to make quick, practical decisions so the clutter doesn’t take over. I also talk through the fridge situation—my husband grabbed a regular depth fridge so we’d have one immediately, I tried to stay calm (very mature of me, I must say), and then we ended up returning it anyway and living off our garage fridge and my teenager’s mini fridge for two weeks. I also share some behind-the-scenes house update thoughts—like why I’m not sad about painting these cabinets (the stain/coloring was off and they were scratched up from having no hardware). I’m adding hardware, deciding between backsplash options, and sharing progress over on Instagram. Then I move into the office/piano room, which honestly was the biggest job for me because of homeschooling and the amount of books we have. I decluttered a ton, sold books to Half Price Books, and set up cube organizers and bins so this room can actually function. The big takeaway: start where you need function first, keep decluttering as you unpack, and just give it time and perseverance—one room at a time, it starts to feel like home.
