Good morning everyone — in this video I’m fitting genuine Triumph heated grips to my Bonneville T120, and I wanted to do it properly because when I looked online, most of the videos I found were poorly made and the instructions weren’t great. So I go through the whole job step-by-step, nice and clear, so if you’ve got a T120 (or even a Speed Twin / other Bonneville range) you can see exactly what’s involved and decide if you want to tackle it yourself or just get your local Triumph dealer to do it. I show you what actually comes in the box (spoiler: not much), explain the big thing that catches people out — the T120 is already pre-wired — and then I walk through removing the bar end mirrors, splitting the switchgear, pulling the old grips off, and feeding the wiring through the bars without crimping anything. The new grips screw into the bars so they don’t rotate, and the switch is neat with two heat settings (high/low) plus an indicator on the dash. Finally, I test everything on the ignition and make sure the throttle is moving freely before calling it done.
