About This Video

In this video I’m taking a look at the Thrunite Lynx, a simple, practical flashlight that Thrunite sent me out to review (and they sponsored the video). I’ve already used it a bunch before filming, so I’m not just reading specs—I’m showing you what you actually get in the box and how it runs. You get the light, a lanyard, a USB-C cable, paperwork, plus a sheath that can go on a belt or clip onto other gear, and it also includes a pocket clip if that’s more your style. The big takeaway for me is the UI. My initial reaction was honestly relief, because it’s not one of those lights where you’ve got to solve a puzzle to use it. The Lynx uses two tail buttons in a way that just makes sense: one for on/off (and fast momentary), and one to cycle modes. You can set it to the mode you want—Firefly, low, medium, high, or turbo—and basically treat it like a single-output light after that. I also show the turbo outside (3100 lumens / 43,650 candela), compare it to my Streamlight ProTac HL5X, and talk about the step-down and heat on turbo. It’s a compact light that hits hard up front, then settles into more sustainable output.
