Oh boy, this is a good one. Ozark Trail releases a new knife in 14c28n. This is another level that they have entered into, and a potential sign of good things to come. Check out this knife and my thoughts in this video. Thanks for watching as always. About This Video

The Ozark Trail knife saga continues, and this new release honestly surprised me. In this video I unbox and check out the Ozark Trail Valor 7.5" folding knife—this time it actually comes in a real box instead of the clamshell packaging. The big deal here is the 3.25" 14C28N blade, an aluminum handle with full steel liners, and the same crossbar-style “slide lock” they’ve been using. Right out of the box, the action was good with a little lock stick (pretty normal on new crossbar locks), and the knife felt rock solid with basically no blade play. I also talk about the obvious inspiration here: the color scheme is basically a Benchmade Bugout “Crater Blue” handle with an FDE-coated blade—which happens to be my favorite Bugout combo. At $19.97, it doesn’t feel like a $20 knife to me; first impression, it feels more like something in that $50–$60 range. I tested sharpness on paper (including the tanto tip) and it was way better than I expected, even doing tight cuts and push cuts. I also cut cardboard to see how the coating holds up—spoiler: it marks up, but some of it wiped off. Overall, I’m impressed, and if Ozark Trail keeps moving in this direction, they’re going to get taken more seriously in the knife world.
