Check out all the Ozark Trail knives we got over the past couple years. It all started with the orange D2. Thanks for watching.

About This Video
In this video I’m dumping out my Ozark Trail knife pile—27 knives we’ve picked up over the last year and a half—and doing a quick walk-through of what’s actually worth buying. Most of these are dirt cheap (a lot under $10, and the “expensive” ones are like $20–$25), and you can definitely feel that on some models. A few are straight-up junky beaters, and one of them is so flimsy it earned the title of “poop knife” on the spot.
But it’s not all bad—there are a couple diamonds in the rough. I talk about the famous orange-and-black D2 axis-lock (including the one I broke in testing), a cheap assisted knife that surprisingly held up better than the D2 in the same abuse test, and a bunch of oddball budget designs (including the weird multi-tool knife with a magnet-held flashlight in the handle). I also cover some fixed blades that came insanely sharp for a couple bucks, plus a bigger “survival” style Ozark Trail that did well batoning.
My biggest takeaway: if you want something to beat on and not care about losing, these cheap Ozark Trails can make sense—but the newer releases like the Valor (14C28N) and the $25 button lock (12C27) are easily the best feeling and most impressive of the bunch.
