In this video I’m doing a quick, practical comparison of two bags people cross-shop all the time: the 5.11 RUSH 12 and the 5.11 RUSH 24. They’re set up almost the same, but the real difference is size and how much you can realistically carry. I go over 5.11’s listed specs (24L vs 37L, 18x11x6.5 vs 20x12x8, and the weight difference), then I get into what that actually looks like when you start measuring pockets and using the compartments. I walk through the straps, PALS webbing, admin panel layout, the concealed-carry/Velcro-lined compartment, hydration sleeve sizing (1.5L vs 2L), and the main compartment organization. The RUSH 24 has a couple extras that matter—like the side zip pockets on both sides and the split top compartment—plus larger mesh pockets inside (including a third zippered pouch). My takeaway is simple: if you want lighter and less bulky for everyday/urban carry, the RUSH 12 makes more sense. If you need more room for a couple days of gear, the RUSH 24 is the better pick—just remember it’s bigger, heavier, and gets even heavier when you pack it out.
