About This Video
In this video I’m checking out three new Ozark Trail knife releases that are all $7.97 before tax, and honestly, that’s a pretty solid deal if you ask me. I unbox them, talk through the basics, and do some quick first impressions on fit/finish, action, and out-of-the-box sharpness. Like most Ozark Trail folders at this price, they don’t list the steel, but I’m assuming it’s their usual 3CR—so you’re not buying these for edge retention, you’re buying them because they’re cheap and usable.
I start with the Wanderlust (7 1/2 inch) which is now spring assisted with a rubberized handle, and it snapped out nicely and came very sharp. Then I check out the Vertex with the red anodized aluminum handle and blue liners—super smooth on bearings, but that aluminum is going to scratch and show wear fast (mine already had marks). Last up is the Trailman (8 1/2 inch) “tactical style” knife I was most excited about: bigger 4-inch blade, chunky feel, and a handle that reminds me of a SOG Kiku mixed with a Cold Steel Recon 1 vibe. It’s not overbuilt, but for $7.97 it’s a fun beater that actually looks cool.
