When I was 16, I used to binge uni vlogs and daydream about what my own university life would look like—then suddenly it happened in phases, and 4 years flew by. In this video, I’m bringing you along for my NUS graduation day, from collecting my gown (which honestly made everything feel way too real) to getting ready while I yap about graduating and the weird transition into adulthood. Uni didn’t turn out exactly how I imagined, but it shaped me more than I expected, and this day felt like the end of a really long chapter. I also share what uni was actually like for me as a business school student during the COVID period—online orientations, hybrid classes, and the reality that the hardest part wasn’t the curriculum, but the constant hustle: internships, extracurriculars, and the anxiety of job hunting. Graduation feels significant not just because I’m “done with uni”, but because it marks the end of my 16-year academic journey and the start of being a “newborn adult” stepping into work life. After the ceremony, I do graduation shoots around UTown (the field I used to watch seniors shoot at), ERC, and CAPT with my closest friends from my residential college—people who really carried me through the highs and lows. We wrap the day with dinner, lots of memories, and a quiet little reminder that it’s both a finish line and a starting line.
