{ author's note } I managed to make use of the extra time I have during this period to edit all the backlogged footage I have sitting idle in my camera roll, taking up loads of memory space. This vlog was somehow the easiest to edit by far? Watching the footage I took and revisiting each and every single moment captured truly left me with such great joy and nostalgia. This trip to Vietnam taught me so much more than I could’ve ever imagined. It widened my worldview, broadened my perspective on life and taught me how life is simply bigger than myself. Being surrounded by those happy and content rubbed off me and reminded me to enjoy the simple things in life. Being placed in an unfamiliar setting gave me a chance to grow as a person, to get familiar with things unfamiliar, and comfortable with things that I would usually be uncomfortable with. “赠人玫瑰，手有余香” (giving another a rose will leave the scent of the rose on your hands) truly, being able to brighten up the children’s day by playing with them and spending time with them made me even happier than it made them. I would definitely not miss another chance to embark on a volunteering trip like this again. I hope this manages to brighten up your day (even by the tiniest bit) during this period!!
