What’s up, guys—this one’s a livestream update because a ton of people were hitting me up asking if I’m alive or dead. I’m alive. I’m here. I’m doing a little bit better, but I’m also not really playing much guitar right now because I’m still recovering from surgery and rebuilding basic “normal human” stuff like standing, walking, and not feeling like my body is on fire. I had a pretty serious circulation issue (90% compression of my IVC) and they put in two stents. If they didn’t catch it in time, they told me straight up I could’ve died—so yeah, I’m grateful they caught it. Recovery has been baby steps: physical therapy every hour, ankle pumps, leg work, and slowly getting back to moving without the walker. I did pick up the guitar a bit, but my hands feel uncoordinated and choppy—like I’ve gotta retrain my nervous system and get my timing and control back. In the meantime, I’ve been doing PT, doom-scrolling, and finally smashing through Zelda (Breath of the Wild and now Tears of the Kingdom) because I’m stuck in bed a lot. Main takeaway: health comes first. If you haven’t had a checkup, let this be your wakeup call—because I had no idea what was going on inside my body until it got real. I’ll probably turn this whole comeback into a series: post-surgery to getting my hands and chops back, one step at a time.
