I record myself playing the scale, then I layer a second take on top by jumping to a different C major “shape” up the neck. No tricks, no triggering—just a simple way to get harmonies happening fast. The main hack is: pick your starting shape, then “skip a shape” to get common harmony intervals. If I start on one C major shape and move to the third shape, I’m basically harmonizing in thirds. If I want fourths, I go to the fourth shape from where I started. My personal favorites are thirds and sixths because they sound huge for metal melodies, but the concept works across the board—as long as you’re consistent about where you start.
