Adjusting audio levels in Final Cut Pro is actually very easy, and in this video I walk you through it step by step using keyframes. The first thing I do is load up the project I want to fix. In the timeline, you’ll see your video on top and the audio waveform underneath it, which makes it simple to spot where the volume starts rising or where it’s too quiet. From there, I move my cursor to the exact spot where I want the change to start, click the sound icon, and use the Volume section to add a keyframe. I add a second keyframe where I want that change to end, and then I add additional keyframes in front of those so I can isolate just the section I want to control. Once the keyframes are in place, I drag the waveform line between the keyframes up or down to raise or lower the audio—watching the dB value as I go (like pushing it up to around 12 dB if needed). The big takeaway is that keyframes let you boost one part without messing up the rest of your clip, so your sound stays balanced and clean.
