Update 8 (Forging the Path) is finally here in Enshrouded, and yeah… it changes EVERYTHING. In this stream I jump in live (after realizing I didn’t actually hit the go-live button… classic) and start digging through what the update really means in a real save: my flame is maxed at level 8, I’ve got 10 altars down, and my character’s level 37—so this isn’t “fresh start” theorycrafting. The first big reality check is the skill tree: it’s fully reset and completely revamped, with more nodes, nodes you can level multiple times, and key stuff like double jump being moved so you can grab it earlier without wasting half your points. I also talk through the chaos of almost losing my entire save file (level 37 character, world, everything) because of Steam cloud syncing—two hours of panic, a full system restore back to the last known good date, and a whole lot of praying later, I got it back. Then we start rebuilding my build on the new tree, leaning into one-handed + shield habits (because I’m always that guy), while also pivoting into wand specialization since magic got buffed hard. If you’re coming back for Update 8, my takeaway is simple: plan to respec, expect your old build to be dead, and be ready to test—because the new skill system and weapon specializations are a whole different game now.
