Tonight I’m BACK in Windrose Early Access, and I made the classic “this will be fine” decision—sailing with the Lost Boys crew. I linked up with Chisel Chip (and Scorch) and we went full pirate mode: shipyards stacked with boats, foggy seas, and the kind of driving that’s… let’s just call it “engaging.” We talked loadouts, what actually matters for ship fights (repair kits, food, potions), and why I’m still learning the whole sailing side while I’m way more comfortable deleting people with a two-handed melee setup and some good old-fashioned cheese spots. Once we hit the water, the pace ramps up fast. We were chewing through level 2 ships in seconds, then trying to thread that needle where you don’t accidentally sink a hauler—because haulers are the ones you want to board for loot. We also got into progression questions like whether to rush a Brig (spoiler: you can buy plans, but crafting needs next-biome materials), and how solo-friendly Windrose is if you tweak difficulty. The big takeaway: ship combat is chaos, but with a crew and constant repairs, it turns into pure fun—and the “pirate money” starts stacking real quick.
