About This Video

In this video I’m basically doing two things: doomscrolling keyboard Reddit, and then getting distracted by the weirdest “where is the rest of the keyboard?” product I’ve had on my desk—the Keyboom Cybres 29. Reddit was the usual chaos: people posting builds with questionable color pairings, boards with missing screens, keycaps you can barely see legends on, and the classic “help me choose my final board” (spoiler: there’s no final board). I also answered a bunch of chat questions along the way—budget tactiles, thock builds, and why some popular boards just aren’t worth buying anymore. Then I actually focus up and test the Cybres 29: a $89–$90 hall effect half-keyboard that’s clearly aimed at gamers who want more mouse room. I do a quick sound test and I’ll be real—this thing sounds shockingly good for what it is, and the thick keycaps are a big reason why. But the typing experience is not it: it’s flat, feels like it’s “going down,” and I don’t personally see a real advantage versus a full HE board. I also open it up out of curiosity (thin bottom case, basically just plate foam), check the web driver situation, and rant a bit about overpriced brands and meme-tier “pro” membrane keyboards.
