About This Video

In this video, I basically asked the obvious question: why are we paying Wooting money when we just want the features? The Wooting 60HE V2 (yeah, the best gaming keyboard right now) is sick, but the price is not. So I tested the Monsgeek Verve68, a $50 hall effect board that’s not some “rubbish AliExpress” random—this thing is actually really good. It’s a 65%, so you get arrow keys (crucial for daily use), and the RGB on this transparent “holo” style case is genuinely a different species. Even the handle glows… even though they didn’t give a strap. Why. I went over the specs, the teardown (after an unnecessary 20 screws), and the gaming side. You get an aluminum plate, silicone dampening, foam, and battery space for wireless—plus a web driver that’s solid for the average person. It’s not as detailed as Wooting software, but it hits almost all the same features, including adjustable actuation. And no, I don’t recommend going insanely low—humans can’t even recognize the difference at that point. Big takeaway: if you can accept a few trade-offs (mostly software), you’re basically getting the same hall effect gaming experience for way cheaper. Then I show the quick mods I’d do—stabs (cheap and fast), hand-lube if you care, and optional jelly tape—because a loud spacebar will always find a way to ruin your day.
