In this stream I basically did what I always do: flip through Reddit, roast a few builds (politely… kinda), and then accidentally land on something that actually matters—the “secret to THOCK.” I looked at a bunch of boards and design choices along the way: thick foreheads vs thin bezels, why some fonts and jelly/front legends just don’t do it for me, why I don’t love fully clear cases (PCB/foam showing is just… weird), and why people need to stop calling every new board an “endgame.” Then we got to the good part: a modded board sound comparison and the switch that hard-carries the sound profile. The secret to thock is the Aflion (Echo) Rosewood switch. It’s the new budget thock switch because it basically refuses to be anything else—plastic, wood, resin, whatever board you put it in, it still comes out deep and thocky. I also talked about how I personally build: I’ll mix switches (alphas + spacebar get the “good” stuff), I’m picky about comfort (front height matters because my wrists get cooked easily), and I’ll mod, but I don’t want to over-mute a board with too much foam.
