In this video I just wanted to talk about Cerakey (ceramic keycaps) and the whole “ceramic vs plastic” keycap debate—no big script, just vibes, Reddit scrolling, and my own set that’s been sitting around forever because I still haven’t found the “perfect” board for it. I’ve got the V2 set with white alphas and blue mods, and I break down why $150 for a full set sounds wild… but also why it’s not that crazy when GMK plastic sets can hit $180. Ceramic is harder to make, the designs can be insane (like that dragon detail), and it’s always been about the sound/feel more than anything. I do a quick comparison: one side of my board with ceramic caps, the other with a normal PBT set. Ceramic makes the board noticeably deeper and also a bit louder, which is kind of the whole point—especially if you want that deep, marbly, thocky sound without going higher-profile or ripping out foam. But I’m not gonna lie: glossy ceramic is super smooth and you lose that grippy plastic feel (and I’m a texture person). I also talk about the real issues: older stems can be loose, keycaps can pop off (yes, my vacuum literally ate one), and the spacebar weight can sag unless you run heavier switches/stabs. I also peek at the newer matte V3 and the stem changes, then end by asking the real question: if ceramic and GMK were the same price, what are you picking?
