About This Video

In today’s video I’m making one of my favorite junk journal projects from the last year or so—a super fun, quick, and easy quadruple pocket using a plain old file folder. I show you exactly how I measure and fold (about 6 inches from the fold on the inside, then about 5 inches on the other flap), cut it in half, and then do that little trim that turns two pockets into three—plus you can get a fourth pocket when you glue it onto your journal page. I love projects like this because they’re fast, low pressure, and you can decorate them any way you want. For this one I went “Edith Holden style” with a nature theme, using scrappy bits, a doily, lace, rick rack, and some cheerful yellows that surprised me (but I ended up loving). I inked the edges with Vintage Photo, stamped “filed,” and added stitching around the sides and top. Then I stuffed the pockets with tags, a playing card, a flippy notepad for notes, and a few fun nature pieces—because I like to make up a little story, like I’m out exploring and collecting samples. It’s perfectly imperfect, and honestly… it turned out darling.
