In today’s video I’m sharing one of my absolute favorites from 2025—turning vintage seed packets into the cutest tiny garden junk journals. I start right from the beginning: opening the packet on one side and across the top, rounding those corners (because to me that look is a must), and then backing the whole thing onto vintage ledger paper. I used a piece from 1902, and I love how letting the seed packet “hang out” about not quite a half inch all the way around makes the journal just a little taller and wider. I also show an optional step I’m really liking—adding washi tape to reinforce the packet and spine. It’s not necessary, but it adds a little whimsy and a bit of strength. Then I build the cover so the front becomes a pocket (gluing just the sides and spine), while the back stays open as another page. After that, I walk you through sewing in a single signature with three holes—super simple for a mini book. I share page ideas like dyed papers, music paper, trimmed-down envelopes, tuck spots, belly bands, and little flip-up envelopes, plus how I decorate with lace, ribbon, pom-pom trim, and sweet spring images.
