About This Video

In this video I’m just sitting down and processing something I’ve been trying to bring into our crazy season as a homeschool family of six: sabbathing on Sundays. I’m a mom of four (8, 6, 2, and a 7-month-old), I work online as a content creator, and honestly I’ve felt exhausted and super burnt out. I used to treat Sundays like my “catch up” day—laundry, tidying, decluttering, grocery orders, and handing Joe a bunch of honey-do tasks—because it felt like the only time we could get ahead. But after listening to the Hallow app during Advent, I felt this real pull on my heart to rest and trust God with the things I’m always trying to control. So we started keeping Sunday set apart: no laundry, no house projects, no grocery ordering/putting away, and (most importantly for me) a break from social media—no posting, no scrolling, no trying to get ideas. Instead, I’m trying to be present: puzzles, a show, board games, reading, prayer, and just being together without optimizing every free hour. We’ve only done it a couple Sundays, but I can already see the fruits, and I’m hoping to carry it into 2026 in a way that changes my heart and my motherhood.
