In this little Christmas moment, I’m over here with Joe while he does his stocking stuffer thing—something he does every single year. I basically just stand there and react while he shows me what he grabbed for the kids, and we talk through what’s actually going in the stockings (and what needs to come out of the packaging first). It’s very real-life: a mix of cute finds, a little candy, and a few “why did you pick that?” items. He found some genuinely adorable Bluey wooden cars (they open up!), a Crayola Mess Free activity, Oreos, Hot Wheels, little Lego sets, and a bunch of those Mini Verse surprise things. There are also Minecraft “little special guy” mystery items that are honestly a surprise for all of us—even Joe doesn’t totally know what’s in them. We also get into the funniest part: him buying Riley a real Rubik’s Cube even though he doesn’t know how to use it, plus a book light that I’m convinced is the best thing he got. It’s a simple peek at how we do stockings—practical, fun, and a little chaotic, like motherhood at home usually is.
