About This Video

We made it—day one of our Disney trip (and our first trip of 2026) as a family of six, and I’m bringing you along for a super chill arrival day at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside. I did mobile check-in on the app, used my phone as the room key, and then I gave you a quick tour of our fifth sleeper standard room in Alligator Bayou. I was honestly starting to freak out a little about space, but it ended up feeling way more spacious than I expected—two queens, the pull-down fifth sleeper, and plenty of room for our Pack ’n Play for Harper. After we got settled, we explored the resort (it’s seriously so pretty), checked out the lobby and gift shop, and let the kids do a little scavenger hunt. We also grabbed drinks at the pool bar—Riley even did a “review” of the Bullfrog Brew—and then we took the boat over to Port Orleans French Quarter for the beignets, because apparently that’s the thing you have to do. They were delicious. I wrapped up the night showing you how we configured the room for bedtime with littles (real life, always), and I shared my honest first impressions: Port Orleans is spread out, but the walks felt totally doable because the scenery is beautiful, and the vibe was lowkey, quiet, and cozy—exactly what I need when we’re traveling with kids.
