Good morning, guys—today’s vlog is Riley’s 8th birthday, and it’s one of those real-life, homey family days where we just celebrate her in the little ways. We start the morning with gifts (yes… lots of “limeies” because she’s obsessed), and I share what we grabbed for her—like a beginner sewing kit because mama doesn’t really know how to sew, so we’re learning together. I also show you the new Amazon cabinet/buffet table we put in for extra storage (it showed up with no instructions… super not fun, but Jo somehow figured it out). Then Riley and I do a little mommy-daughter “girly date” because I know how much she loves one-on-one time. We hit Claire’s (they had a buy 3 get 3 free promo) and then Old Navy, where I had to restrain myself because the little girl stuff was so cute—especially the Valentine’s things. Back home we do McDonald’s birthday lunch, the kids catch a lizard (in my rain boot… my literal worst nightmare), and we spend the afternoon crafting and stitching. We end the day with donuts, Krispy Kreme hats, happy birthday singing, and Riley finishing the cutest little sewing projects—just sweet, simple memories I’m really grateful to have (and honestly, grateful you guys have been along for the ride for 8 years).
