Yeah peeps—Sony taking forever with official PS5 Pro plates, so I went and checked my friends in the East. In this video I do a live unboxing of a transparent PS5 Pro plate set from AliExpress, and I’m not gonna lie…I was excited and nervous at the same time because you never know what quality you’re getting. First impressions surprised me though: the plates feel thick and way more high-quality than I expected, not like some cheap 3D printed thing. Once I installed them, the console looks absolutely insane. You can literally see the SSD panel, the fan area, and even the disc drive connection in the corner, which gives it that tech/industrial vibe I love. The big caveat is the disc-drive opening (I’m on the digital setup right now), because that’s basically a dust entry point until I buy the disc drive. So I did some good old Jamaican ingenuity—cut a piece of the packaging styrofoam to fit and block the hole for now. I also talk about a couple concerns like long-term discoloration and how durable the clips will be versus OEM, but overall? The look is flipping beautiful. If you’re into custom builds like my transparent purple DualSense Edge, this is the kind of vibe Sony should’ve been doing from day one.
