About This Video

In this video I’m showing y’all the real drama I’ve been dealing with: my brand spanking new PS5 Pro is randomly shutting off like it has a mind of its own. I caught it on camera—blue lights, then “no signal,” and it’s gone. It doesn’t matter if there’s an SSD in it or not, whether I’m playing a game, sitting in the menu, or just turning it on for a few seconds… it’ll still cut off. And the timing couldn’t be worse because I was deep into Doom: The Dark Ages and wanted to do an impressions video, but this mess basically killed that plan. I walk through the situation and why I’m sending it back to Sony under warranty (because Best Buy coverage doesn’t kick in until after the 1-year manufacturer warranty). I also show what comes in the “coffin” shipping kit Sony sends—plain box, padding, a thin sleeve, instructions, and the label—nothing fancy, and honestly it wasn’t even packed in a way that made me feel confident. The big takeaway: Sony’s quality control this generation has been questionable for me. My OG PS5 gave me almost 5 years of zero issues, but this PS5 Pro couldn’t even make it a couple months, and based on how sporadic it is, I’m leaning power supply issue more than overheating or SSD.
